Dan Gillmor on New Media
Haydn Shaughnessy · Founder, TheContentStudio.com · Knowledge Management / people's web 2.0 / peoples web 2.0
Dan Gillmor of the Center for Citizen Media made the point that the business model used by newspapers may implode before we’ve nurtured a replacement. I asked him to expand on that. His analysis, a bit like I’ve said here a few times, is newspapers began laying off journalists because the papers were not improving profits...

Haydn Shaughnessy · Founder, TheContentStudio.com · for argument's sake / for arguments sake / Knowledge Management / what's new
I just attended an intereseting session which focused on play onthe web, play as distinct from games. The presenter was JulianBlocker and his point is there are people out there playing withthe line between real life and web life, devising games for example that impose real life limits on a virtual experience. The effect is odd, like...

Friday Squid Blogging: Steganographic Squid
Bruce Schneier · Founder and Chief Technical Officer, Counterpane · it security
Seems that some squid can hide messages in their skin : In the animal world, squid are masters of disguise. SIOC-o-sphere & Blogosphere 2.0
Kingsley Idehen · Founder & CEO, OpenLink Software · Software Development
